So much dung gas is made that the stoves of 900 houses are burnt, know the full story.

Farming is a profitable business... Many farmers are proving this sentence to be true. One of them is Jairam Gaikwad of Betul. Gaikwad, who turned down 3 government jobs, left traditional farming and turned to organic farming. Within a few years, the earnings reached millions. He started dairy with farming with 2 cows and today owns more than 50 cows. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has honored this farmer, who has done organic farming and milk production on 30 acres of land, even while being the CM of Gujarat. Our pride, in our Kisan series, Dainik Bhaskar is telling you today the success story of farmer Jairam...

54 year old MA pass farmer Jairam is a resident of Bagholi village, 11 KM away from Betul. He has 30 acres of ancestral land on which his father used to do traditional farming. During his studies, he got a job in CRPF, followed by a clerk in the Army and then in the Railways. Jayaram felt like doing a job, but he could not leave his soil. He decided to quit his job and take up farming. They have a son Lokesh Gaikwad who is following his path and is graduating from Rewa Veterinary College.

annual income of 35 lakhs

Jayaram told that the idea to modernize agriculture in an organic way came to him from the tour program of the Agriculture Department and his own curiosity. He does not use chemicals and fertilizers at all in his 30 acres of farmland with his brothers. They do farming only with vermi compost manure made from cow dung. Only wheat and sugarcane are cultivated in 9 out of 30 acres. Because of organic farming, their wheat is sold for 30 to 35 rupees per kg. At the same time, the price of jaggery is 60 rupees per kg. Apart from this, they grow other fruits and vegetables including tomato, brinjal in the rest of the farm.

Along with farming, Jayaram made Gopalan his passion. Gajanan Dairy was started in the year 2012 with 2 cows. In just 10 years he became the owner of many calves including more than 50 hybrid and indigenous cows. They make domestic gas and electricity through gobar gas. Along with this, by making vermi compost manure from cow dung, they add life to their crops.

He has constructed a shed for the cows in such a way that the animal waste gets deposited directly in the dung gas plant behind the shed through drains. Waste from the gas plant is further passed into the tanks, which is the initial process of vermicompost. From here this waste gets ready as organic manure. This manure becomes a panacea for their crops. He has also given employment to 8 boys here.

reared many cows of Shankar breed

Many cows of Shankar breed in the dairy are a major source of income for Jayaram and his family from farming. Including morning and evening, more than 1.5 hundred liters of milk is their major source of income. At the same time, organic manure made from waste is a means of additional income.

With farming, milk is a big source of income.

Jairam's wife told that there is 150 liters of milk every day. From this, he makes other dairy products including mawa, paneer, curd and ghee. He earns 1 lakh 80 thousand from dairy, but after taking out the expenses, he saves 1 lakh rupees per month from milk.

Jairam makes so much gas from the Gobar gas plant itself that the stoves of 900 houses are burnt, but due to limited resources, this is not possible at the moment. They generate electricity from cow dung and run generators. Due to which the Mawa machine runs. Run the mill to make the grain fine. The rest of the gas is also used to make mawa. Jayaram says that he produces 15 quintals of cow dung every day from 50 cows, which makes 10 quintals of vermi compost daily and 300 quintals of manure is prepared in a month.

Elder brother Pundalik Gaikwad says that Jayaram's innovations changed the way he farmed. This is the reason why everyone is convinced of the younger brother who has been doing traditional farming for years. For this reason, farmers from other villages also come to him to take his opinion on organic farming and are taking advantage of his words in farming. At the same time, farmer Kash Bhopate says that whenever he has to take any advice from crops to cattle, he comes to Jairam's shelter.
